Buddug Nelson
Buddug Nelson brings over 20 years of clinical and public health experience to her role as Module Tutor on the MSc in Applied Health Economics. She holds a master’s degree in Applied Health Economics and has a background in nursing, public health, and immunisation services.
Her professional experience includes managing large-scale vaccination programmes within a UK health board, as well as leading needs assessments, policy development, and quality improvement initiatives. She has also worked internationally on cervical cancer prevention strategies in Sub-Saharan Africa, applying economic principles to improve health outcomes in resource-limited settings.
Buddug’s combined expertise in clinical delivery and economic evaluation provides students with a grounded understanding of how health economics informs decision-making across diverse healthcare systems. Her teaching draws on both UK and global perspectives, supporting the practical application of theory to real-world challenges in public health and service delivery.
