Dr. Detina Zalli

Dr. Detine is a Senior Lecturer in Genomic Medicine at Imperial College London, bringing extensive expertise in medical education, curriculum development, and online learning. Holding a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice with distinction, Dr. Detina has led and taught across postgraduate programmes including PGCert, PGDip, and MSc levels. Their work focuses on integrating genomics, pharmacogenomics, and rare disease education into innovative distance-learning environments. Previously, as Head of Online Precision Cancer Medicine at the University of Oxford, they provided strategic leadership in e-learning design and collaborated with leading academics to deliver advanced courses in oncology and genetics. Dr. Detina’s experience includes developing assessment criteria, supervising research projects, and contributing to quality assurance in higher education. Their academic leadership is complemented by a strong record of fostering partnerships and implementing evidence-based teaching methods. This expertise ensures they are exceptionally well-suited to the Tutor role on the PGDip in Medical Education, guiding students in effective educational practice with an emphasis on advancing medical teaching through modern digital platforms.
