Dr Elena Makropoulou

Dr Elena Makropoulou is a Tutor on the PgDip and MSc in Cosmetic and Aesthetic Medicine and the PgCert Anti-ageing Medicine at the University of South Wales. She holds an MSc in Cosmetic Medicine from the University of South Wales and is currently undertaking PhD research at Lancaster University. Dr Makropoulou brings extensive clinical experience to her teaching, having practised dentistry since 2001 before entering the field of cosmetic medicine in 2012. Since 2017, she has been co-owner and supervisor of an aesthetic medicine clinic in Greece. Her postgraduate training spans Oral Surgery, Dental Implants and Aesthetic Dentistry, providing a strong clinical foundation for her work in facial aesthetics. Her research interests include facial aesthetics, lip aesthetics, smile design, and ageing. She has presented at international conferences and published in areas related to Aesthetic Medicine, Anti-ageing/Regenerative Medicine, and Gerontology. She has also supported students presenting at Aesthetic Medicine and Dermatology conferences. This combination of long-standing clinical experience and active research gives Dr Makropoulou particular insight into both the technical and patient-centred dimensions of Cosmetic and Aesthetic Medicine.
