Dr. Gney Mehta

Dr Gney Mehta is an accomplished Gastroenterology specialist and dedicated educator, and Programme Leader for our Postgraduate Diploma and MSc in Gastroenterology. With a strong focus on postgraduate education and training, he has held influential leadership roles at both regional and national levels, shaping curriculum development and fostering academic mentorship.

Dr Mehta earned his medical degree from Cardiff University, where he also completed an intercalated BSc in Clinical Epidemiology. His academic achievements include a Postgraduate Diploma in Gastroenterology and a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education, equipping him with a unique blend of clinical and pedagogical expertise. He is also an accredited endoscopist with JAG certification.

Throughout his career, Dr Mehta has contributed extensively to research and quality improvement initiatives. He has authored peer-reviewed articles in leading journals, with a focus on improving patient care in gastroenterology. Notably, he co-founded the Cardiff Medics’ Student-Patient Chapter, an initiative recognised with the Kaiser Permanente Quality Service Award and a nomination for the NHS Wales Award.
