Biography
Dr. Justyna Witczak
Dr Justyna Witczak is a Consultant in Diabetes, Endocrinology and General Internal Medicine with almost a decade of specialist clinical experience. She graduated from Poznan University of Medical Sciences in Poland and holds a doctorate from Cardiff University. She was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) in 2023, recognising her sustained contribution to the profession.
Dr Witczak has been an active contributor to the Royal College of Physicians, serving as the New Consultants' Committee (NCC) Wales Representative from 2020 to 2024, and playing a key role in organising the regional NCC Forum Wales. She was also the recipient of the prestigious Lewis Thomas Gibbon Jenkins of Britton Ferry Fellowship from the RCP in 2015 which enabled her to complete her research on circulating extracellular vesicles in human obesity.
Her commitment to education and training has been a defining feature of her career. Since 2020, she has served as a Tutor on the Postgraduate Diploma in Acute Medicine at the University of South Wales, a role she continues to hold alongside editorial and senior clinical lecturer work for Learna. During her training years, she was a Committee Member of Young Diabetologist and Endocrinologist Forum (YDEF) Wales, contributing to organising professional development opportunities for the next generation of specialists.
She was recognised by the Society for Endocrinology through their Leadership and Development Programme Clinician-in-Practice Award in 2020.
Dr Witczak also has an established research profile, having served as Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator on various national and international clinical trials, and has published in peer-reviewed journals.
She brings a strong combination of clinical expertise, leadership experience and educational dedication to her new role as Programme Director for the Acute Medicine Diploma.
