Dr Samuel Mwaura Mucheru MBChB; MMed; MSc

Samuel Mwaura Mucheru is a Family Medicine Specialist and Diabetologist serving as a Tutor for the PGDip in Metabolic Medicine. He completed his residency training at Aga Khan University, earning a Master's degree in Family Medicine, and currently serves as Program Director and Senior Clinical Instructor at Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairobi. In these roles, he oversees curriculum implementation, supervises academic research, and provides clinical instruction and mentorship to residents and master's students. His clinical practice includes serving as Head of Clinical Services at the Aga Khan Peponi Executive Clinic, where he manages chronic disease clinics specializing in diabetes and hypertension, alongside providing visiting consultant services for complex acute and chronic conditions across local hospitals. Samuel is actively involved as a project lead on structured diabetes self-care research with the Kenya Diabetes Study Group and serves as Treasurer for the Kenya Association of Family Physicians. His background in clinical diabetes management, academic leadership, and medical research provides students with insightful, real-world instruction throughout the diploma program.
