Emanuel Schembri is a physiotherapist with over 15 years of clinical experience, specialising in the management of spinal and neuropathic pain. He currently works full-time within the multidisciplinary Pain Clinic at Mater Dei Hospital, Malta, where he collaborates closely with consultant pain specialists and neuromodulation experts to deliver holistic, evidence-based care. Emanuel holds an MSc with distinction in the Clinical Management of Pain from the University of Edinburgh and has extensive teaching experience at the University of Malta, where he lectures on pain management to physiotherapy students and supervises clinical placements. His academic work aligns closely with international pain education standards, and he has authored peer-reviewed publications on neuropathic pain, spinal disorders, and opioid effectiveness. Emanuel’s dual role as clinician and educator ensures that his teaching is grounded in current best practice, making him well-suited to support postgraduate students in deepening their clinical reasoning and application of pain science.
