Biography
Jade Portelli
Jade Portelli is a qualified physiotherapist with over a decade of clinical and academic experience, including significant work in geriatric rehabilitation and multidisciplinary care. She holds an MSc in Sports Medicine, Exercise and Health from University College London, where her research on muscle activation in elite athletes was nominated for the Dean’s Research Prize. Jade has worked across public health, hospital, and community settings, providing rehabilitation services to older adults, particularly in musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, and outpatient care. Her experience includes roles within Malta’s Ministry of Health, where she contributed to geriatric outpatient rehabilitation and primary care services. She is also an experienced educator, currently tutoring postgraduate students at the University of South Wales and having previously mentored physiotherapy students at the University of Malta. Her academic and clinical interests include injury prevention, rehabilitation, and promoting healthy ageing through physical activity. With a strong foundation in evidence-based practice and a commitment to education, Jade brings a valuable perspective to the Care of the Older Person MSc.
