From Clinical Educator to Academic Achiever: Christy Mary Abraham’s Inspiring Journey

Christy Mary Abraham, a dedicated Clinical Educator, recently achieved a significant milestone by earning her Master’s in Medical Education with Learna | Diploma MSc. Having spent eight years working in the UAE, Christy recognised the need to upskill in order to unlock new career opportunities and maximise her potential.

"I did extensive research and found excellent reviews about the University of South Wales and this programme. Knowing that my director of clinical operations was an alumna further strengthened my confidence in enrolling with Learna," she shared.

Despite initial anxieties about returning to academics after a long break, Christy found unwavering support from Learna’s student services team. "Balancing work, family, and studies seemed overwhelming at first, but the support and encouragement I received made all the difference. The team constantly motivated me, sending emails saying, 'Christy, you can do better!' That pushed me forward, and I eventually passed with distinction in my Postgraduate Diploma and earned Merit in my Master's degree."

The impact of her education has already been felt in her professional role. "Healthcare is constantly evolving, and sticking to outdated methods isn’t an option. This programme has expanded my understanding of curriculum development and modern educational approaches, helping me stay ahead."

One of the most valuable aspects of her journey was the research component. "I was completely new to research, but the support I received gave me the confidence to take on future research projects," Christy explained.

Applying her newfound knowledge in real-world scenarios has been rewarding. "I struggled with providing effective feedback to students with different learning attitudes. Through my research, I learned methodologies to give constructive and positive feedback that truly supports student growth. That’s just one of many ways this course has positively impacted my work."

Reflecting on her experience, Christy describes Learna in one word: "Excellent."
